A 46-year-old Stouffville man has succumbed to his injuries as a result of a collision with a transit bus in Whitby.
On Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers from Central West Division were called to the scene of a motor-vehicle collision on Nichol Avenue near Kirby Crescent in Whitby. The collision involved a black Ford Ranger truck and a Durham transit bus.
Witnesses have indicated that the Ford Ranger had lost control while travelling east on Nichol Avenue and collided with the westbound bus. The male driver of the Ford truck was transported to a local hospital and then transported to a Toronto trauma hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Durham transit bus had three passengers on board at the time. Two of the passengers were transported to a local hospital and were treated for their injuries and later released.
