Wanted Saint John man William Meehan arrested for sexually assaulting a child

William Meehan, a 61-year-old Saint John man wanted by U.S. authorities for sexually assaulting a child was arrested in Saint John on March 17, 2014.

Providing assistance to the United States Federal Marshal Service (USMS), members of the RCMP in New Brunswick’s Integrated Border Enforcement Team, Federal Operations and the Saint John Police Force, arrested Meehan on a provisional arrest warrant. 

Meehan was wanted for offences that occurred in the state of Georgia, in the United States over a two year period starting in 2010.

On March 18, 2014, Meehan appeared in Saint John Court of Queen’s Bench, where he waived his bail hearing and was remanded into custody.
