A Trenton, Ont., family was in complete regret after a 54-year-old mother of two, Tammy Conley, was run over by her 79-year-old father while he was trying to park an SUV. The accident took place on Saturday morning when Tammy Conley, her father and her 15-year-old daughter Samantha were parking outside the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital. The family had come to deliver a birthday card to Tammy’s mother, who was in hospital being treated for a blood clot in her head.

According to the police, Conley’s father was apparently trying to parallel-park when he first hit the vehicle parked behind him. Thereafter, Conley ran in front of the vehicle a short while before the driver allegedly accelerated forward and struck her and another car before mounting the curb on the opposite side of the street and coming to a stop on a lawn.

The owner of the home where the black SUV stopped, John Collins, claims to have heard the screams of Conley’s daughter Samantha, who had miserably witnessed the whole thing. Collins got out of the house immediately and attended the situation. According to him, “we were made aware of it because the daughter was crying and crying for her mother.” Consequently, Paramedics were called on to the scene and Conley was revived successfully at the time. However she failed to survive later and gave up to her injuries soon. Ottawa police are continuing to investigate the incident.
