Attempt murder suspect Edward Milligan turned himself to Hamilton police

On April 22, 2014, wanted person Edward Milligan turned himself in to Hamilton Police. He is facing a charge of attempted murder and is scheduled to appear in Court on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.

Investigators are appreciative of the assistance provided by the public and our media partners during their endeavours to locate Mr. Milligan.

Background:

On April 14, 2014 at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of Hamilton Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to the area of Francis Streetand Douglas Avenue, Hamilton, regarding a report of an assault. A 23 year old male victim was located in the area and was found to be in medical distress. He had obvious injuries which were caused by blunt force trauma. He was transported to hospital where he received urgent medical treatment. He had been in critical condition but has now improved and he is expected to survive.

The Homicide Unit conducted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this vicious attack. It has been determined that this was a targeted attack and not a random act. A male, who investigators believe did not personally know the Victim, has now been charged:

Charged: Edward Milligan, 34 years of Grimsby

Charge: Attempted Murder
