Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 5000 Gulf Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 South) about 10:25 p.m. on Saturday (May 3).
The identity of the female victim, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer T. Van reported:
The victim was driving a silver Acura TL and entered the Gulf Freeway from the Telephone Road entrance ramp. Her vehicle crossed all northbound lanes of the freeway, struck the center retaining wall and then hit a tan Ford Crown Victoria. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene, but was later taken by a private vehicle to Memorial Hermann Hospital where doctors pronounced her deceased the following day (May 4). No other persons were injured in the accident.
The investigation is continuing.
