Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has managed to score yet another headline while still being away in rehab, as his SUV was impounded for an alleged impaired driving violation by a Muskoka Lakes Township, Ont., woman. According to several sources, a woman named Lee Anne McRobb was booked for drunk driving the mayor’s black Cadillac Escalade on Tuesday afternoon. She is believed to have been in rehab treatment at GreeneStone Muskoka with Ford.
However, McRobb refused to reveal to reporters in Gravenhurst, Ont., on Wednesday at Northland Towing and Recovery why she was behind the wheel of the mayor’s vehicle. She stated that “it doesn’t matter. That’s for me to know.” According to a video posted by MooseFM’s Carly Verhoeven, McRobb answered that “you guys don’t need to know.” Two videos posted by MooseFM on YouTube, show McRobb saying that she was in GreeneStone and left something in Ford’s room. She alleged to have left the rehab facility and stated that “I was but I’m out of there.”
Additionally, McRobb was seen saying about Mr. Ford that “everybody knows him, he’s on the news.” Inquired if she cares for Ford, McRobb shrugged and said that “I’m not going to comment on this right now, I’m a little emotional.” An official press release issued by the OPP said that Bracebridge, Ont., detachment officers stopped the vehicle at around 2:34 p.m. after responding to a traffic complaint.
