On June 24, 2014 at 9:00 p.m., Neguac RCMP received a call that two men had not returned from a fishing excursion, on land, in the Bartibog area. The men, aged 69 and 60 years, both of Village-Saint-Laurent, were due back around 3:00 p.m. but were only able to contact family briefly at around 9:00 p.m. stating they were lost in the woods. Contact was then lost.

RCMP Police Dog Services along with the Miramichi and Tri-County Ground Search and Rescue Teams were activated and searched throughout the night.

At 6:20 a.m. this morning, the men were located by the search teams, and are in good health.
