The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section continues to investigate a fatal collision that occurred earlier today.

At approximately 8:40 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, emergency crews responded to reports of a rollover in the 200 block of Taralake Terrace N.E.

When officers arrived they declared a man in his 20s dead at the scene. A baby who was strapped in a car seat, but not secured at the base, was found injured inside the vehicle. The child, who is approximately two months old, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

It’s believed the Chrysler 300 was headed north on Taralake Terrace N.E., when it struck a south-facing, parked car. The Chrysler rolled on to its roof and slid about 16 metres from the area of impact.

Driver inattention is considered a factor in the collision.
