Toronto’s Mayor Rob Ford is unfortunately in a hospital fighting abdominal tumour as his supporters wish him well and gave him suggestions. Mr. Ford was admitted to Humber River Hospital on Wednesday on recommendation of his doctor, who checked him for stomach pain. Now doctors are performing tests to determine the type of tumour Ford has.

Ford Nation supporters near and in Bloor West Village shared their thoughts on the veteran municipal politician’s health and the mayoral race on Thursday morning. Upon inquiry about ‘what is your reaction to Rob Ford being in hospital with a tumour?’ and ‘What are your thoughts on his staying in the mayoral election race?’ A passenger at Runnymede subway station, Tina Dalli, replied that “you never want to see anyone sick. You want to wish them well,” adding that “as long as (the tumour) is not going to harm his health or his performance at work (he should stay in the race).” Whereas another resident on Bloor Street West, Anna Malek, replied that “obviously, it’s sad,” explaining that “It’s too early to tell (if he should continue in the race) if he just went into the hospital.”

Meanwhile, upon inquiry about whether Ford should continue his bid for second term as mayor, Julia P. replied, “we’ll have to see what happens. It’s too early to tell.” One resident alleged that “I think if he’s sick, he can’t do a good job,” while another stated that “I think he should stay in the race. He’s a cool mayor.”
