The Edmonton Police Service was called by Edmonton Fire Rescue around 2:20 a.m. this morning after a residential fire occurred in the area of 173 Street and 77 Avenue.
One person is deceased and EPS Homicide Section is leading this investigation with assistance from EPS Arson Unit and Edmonton Fire Rescue.
An autopsy will take place at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014.
The investigation is still in its early stages and more information will be released when available.
