On Sunday, November 7, 2010, at 10:30 p.m., police responded to a shooting call at a auto shop in the Warden Avenue/Eglinton Avenue East area.

It is alleged that:

– three employees were in the auto shop when a fourth employee walked in with a shotgun, fired one round into the ceiling, then fled the scene.

No one was injured.

On Monday, November 8, 2010, it is further alleged that:

– police executed a search warrant at the home of the suspect and the shotgun used was located and seized, along with ammunition.

Thiruchchelvan Thanancheyan, 38, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Careless Use of a Firearm,
2. Discharge Firearm Endanger Life,
3. Cause Disturbance by Discharging Firearm,
4. Weapons Dangerous,
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device,
6. Unauthorized of a Prohibited Ammunition.

He appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, room 412, 10 a.m.
