Michael Shane Nurse charged with robbery in Winnipeg

On November 10th, 2010 at approximately 7:10 a.m. a male suspect attended to a restaurant located in the 200 block of Kennedy Street and ordered some food. As the 28 year old female clerk attended to the register, the suspect ordered her to open the till, and when she refused and the suspect male grabbed the food and fled the scene.

The clerk was not injured and the suspect male was later spotted and arrested in the area of Ellice Avenue and Donald Street by observant Uniform Officers. Further investigation by the Major Crimes Unit has resulted the same male being responsible for the following robberies:

– November 7th, 2010 at approximately 8:45 a.m. at a restaurant in the 100 block of Carlton Street
– November 7th, 2010 at approximately 4:00 p.m. at restaurant in the 300 block of Broadway Avenue
– November 7th, 2010 at approximately 8:15 p.m. at a gas station in the 1200 block of Portage Avenue
– November 8th, 2010 at approximately 11:05 p.m. at a gas station in the 1200 block of Portage Avenue
– November 9th, 2010 at approximately 7:00 p.m. at a restaurant in the 100 block of Carlton Street

In all of the above robberies the male suspect obtained either an undisclosed amount of cash or cigarettes. None of the incidents resulted in any injuries.

Michael Shane NURSE, 33 years of no fixed address has been charged with:

– Robbery x 2
– Robbery with weapon X4
– Breach of Probation
– Fail to comply with condition Recognizance
– 5 Warrant to Arrests for various breaches of court orders

NURSE has been detained in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
