Today is the 20th anniversary of the death of Shane Darrell Siddle and the Major Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

On December 12, 1994, police responded to the Victoria General Hospital regarding a report from medical staff concerning a serious head injuryreceived by their patient, Shane Siddle, causes of which were unknown at that time. Mr. Siddle died in hospital as a result of the head injuries on December 12, 1994.

The investigation revealed that Shane may have been involved in an altercation and knocked unconscious near his Belle Aire Terrace residence the night of December 7, 1994. It is believed that Shane regained consciousness and arrived home before he was rushed to hospital the same night. The original assault was never reported to police. Investigators believe there are people who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges.
