Suspect Andrew Angus Perkins charged in connection to a child pornography investigation

A man faces a charge after a search in Halifax by the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.

On September 26, ICE investigators conducted a search of an apartment in the 200 block of Regency Park Drive. Officers arrested a suspect at the scene and seized computer equipment. The suspect was later released from custody without charges and the equipment was sent for analysis.

On December 23, at 4 p.m., 49-year-old Andrew Angus Perkins was rearrested after he turned himself in at Police Headquarters. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on February 26, 2015 to face a charge of possession of child pornography. He was released from custody under conditions to not communicate with children under the age of 16, not to possess a device able to access the internet and not be within 50 meters of a place frequented by children.
