Fatal double vehicle collision at Route 134 in Lakeville claims life of a Lakeville woman

Shortly after 8:40 p.m., on January 9, 2015, Riverview RCMP from Southeast District responded to a collision involving two vehicles on Route 134 in Lakeville.

The vehicles collided near the railroad crossing at the Moncton City limits. A 47-year-old woman from Lakeville was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was treated for minor injuries. Three people in the other vehicle were treated at hospital for non-life threatening injuries and later released.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing with the assistance of an RCMP collision reconstructionist. Road conditions and alcohol have not been ruled out as causes at this time.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time to allow for proper notification of her family.
