The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Child Exploitation investigation.
In October 2014, the Toronto Police Service started an investigation.
It is alleged that:
– a man communicated with several individuals, via social media, regarding sexual contact with children
– he offered to pay money for access to a 14-year-old child for a sexual purpose
– he used the online identities of B.g.VAND, bvand81@yahoo.com, blair.vandette@gmail.com
On Monday, January 19, 2015, members of the Child Exploitation section executed a Criminal Code search warrant in the College Street and Bathurst Street area.
Gregory Blair Vandette, 33, of Toronto, was arrested.
He has been charged with:
1) Make Agreement/Arrangement to Commit a Sexual Offence Against a Child
2) Procuring
3) Luring a Child Under 16 years
4) Invitation to Sexual Touching
5) three counts of Unsafe Storage of Firearms
6) five counts of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, January 19, 2015, 2 p.m., room 101.
Police believe there may be more victims.
