ATM PIN skimming device found in Toronto

On Saturday, November 13, 2010, police responded to a call for a fraud investigation in the Bathurst Street/St.Clair Avenue West area.

It was reported that:

– citizens attended a financial institution in the Bathurst Street/St. Clair Avenue West area,

-while using the ATM, a piece of the machine became detached, revealing a skimming device with a micro video camera attached,

– the police were contacted and an ATM skimming device was located.

Police want to remind the public to be vigilant when using an ATM and to report any suspicious activity to police. Devices are well-disguised and can be installed within seconds.
