Police have arrested an individual in connection with the deaths of Noah and Connor Barthe of Campbellton, N.B.

Four-year-old Noah Barthe and his six-year-old brother Connor both died on August 5, 2013 in Campbellton. Autopsies determined the boys died as a result of being asphyxiated by an African rock python that was being housed in the same apartment where the boys were attending a sleepover.

The individual was arrested on February 5, 2015 in the province of Quebec and is currently in police custody. At this point no charges have been laid.

The investigation is continuing.
