Brampton man Deion Cuvilie charged with drug trafficking

USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The Major Crime Section continues to investigate the shooting of an 18-year-old Mississauga, Ontario man in London just after 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015.

Investigators have determined that the shooting took place at the Holiday Inn and Suites at 855 Wellington Rd., London. The victim was released from hospital on Thursday, February 12.

London Police Service members identified a suspect and determined that he had travelled to a Woodstock, Ontario address after the shooting. At 3:25 a.m. on Friday, February 13, members of the London Police Service Emergency Response Unit and Guns and Drugs Section executed a search warrant at that location. Deion Cuvilie, 18 years old, of Brampton, was located there and was arrested. During the search, police located a restricted firearm (handgun) and ammunition, along with a quantity of crack cocaine and cash. As a result of this investigation, Deion Cuvilie is charged with the following offences:

• s.86(1)CC, Careless Use of Firearm
• s.92(1)CC, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• s. 95(1)CC, Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
• s.5(2)CDSA, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

The successful outcome of this investigation to this point is due in large part to the collaborative efforts of both police agencies involved. The London Police Service would like to acknowledge the operational support of the members of the Woodstock Police Service throughout the course of this investigation.

The suspect and the victim are known to each other. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
