The Calgary Police Service Child Abuse Unit has charged a man in connection with a sexually-motivated incident at a local private dayhome.

The assault was reported to police in March 2015, after a four-year-old girl told her parents she was asked to fondle a man while at a northeast dayhome.

The incident is alleged to have occurred sometime between September 2014 and the end of February 2015, when the girl attended the dayhome located in the 0-100 block of Covehaven Crescent N.E.

The man, who lives in the home but was not a childcare worker, is alleged to have had sexual contact with the girl when the two were alone. The operator of the dayhome is known to the accused in this case and is being uncooperative with investigators.

Police are making efforts to contact parents who may have had children attending the dayhome and are asking anyone with information to call 403-266-1234.

Christopher Donald COLBORNE, 40, is charged with invitation to sexual touching with a child under 16 and sexual interference.
