On December 14, shortly after 7:00 a.m., District 5 RCMP, Richibucto Detachment responded to head on collision on Highway 11 between the Richibucto and Rexton exits.
The collision occurred between a cube van and a pick up truck and resulted in serious injuries to both drivers. They were the lone occupants of each vehicle.
Two men, aged 26 and 54, both from Aldouane, were transported by ambulance to the Moncton hospital where they are both listed in stable condition.
Highway 11 was closed for several hours while investigators and an RCMP collision reconstructionist attempted to determine the cause of the crash. The collision is still under investigation
