District 2 RCMP are investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a pickup truck that occurred on Highway 102 in Lincoln.

An 86-year-old man was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck just before 7:30 a.m. on December 20. The collision happened in front of the Fredericton International Airport. The victim, who lived in the immediate area, died at the scene.

An accident reconstruction team and the provincial coroner are attending the scene. Route 102 is blocked to traffic in both directions and is expected to remain closed for much of the morning. Vehicle access to the airport is not affected.
