Sadness blankets Edmonton as two small kids found murdered

EPS Homicide Detectives have one man in custody after two small children were found dead in a residence near 119 Avenue and Abbottsfield Road (34 Street) shortly after midnight on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, December. 19, 2010 police received a call for a welfare check at the above address. Upon entry to the residence, police discovered two deceased children. EMS was called to treat non life-threatening injuries to a 31-year-old adult male.

The male from Edmonton (31) is now in custody. The name of the suspect and any pending charges will be released after the autopsy.

The autopsies have yet to be scheduled. EPS Homicide Section is leading the investigation.
