District 2 RCMP have identified an elderly man who was killed while walking along Route 102 in Lincoln this morning.
86-year-old John (Jack) Geldart was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck in front of the Fredericton International Airport just before 7:30 a.m. No one else was injured.
Route 102 was closed in both directions for more than six hours while the coroner and a collision reconstruction team attended the scene. The road was re-opened around 2 p.m.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
