Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced today that an arrest has been made in the homicide of 29-year-old Keith Banks.

On Friday, November 12, 2010, at approximately 3:00 am, units from the Fourth District responded to 12th and Crittenden Street, NE, to investigate the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, a canvass of the area was initiated and at the 1100 block of Galloway Street, NE, they discovered a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.

On Monday, December 20, 2010, members of the Homicide Branch arrested 39-year-old Reginald Vance of Brentwood, MD and charged him with Murder One While Armed in the shooting death of Keith Banks.
