Just after 1:00 AM on January 1st 2011 Calgary Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 3 Street and 4 Avenue SW in response to gunshots. Multiple 911 calls were receieved by citizens. Upon arrival police located two males who had suffered gunshots. Both males were transported by EMS to hospital where one male subsequently died of his injuries. The second male is listed in serious but stable condition.Police engaged in a footchase with possible offenders who were successfully taken into custody. The Homicide Unit is continuing the investigation.
