Police lockdown Mother Teresa Secondary School, London

On Thursday January 20, 2011, at approximately 11:10 AM, the London Police Service received information that a student had entered Mother Teresa Secondary School and engaged in an altercation with another student. They went outside and one of the suspects threatened the other student with a handgun. The school went into a lockdown for precautionary reasons. It was understood that the suspects had left the area. The London Police Emergency Response Unit searched the school for precautionary reasons while other members of the London Police Service searched for the suspects.

At approximately 12:50 PM, three male suspects were located in an area away from the school and were taken into custody by London Police. Investigation has revealed that one of the males arrested was a student at Mother Teresa, another had been expelled from Mother Teresa, and the third is not a student at Mother Teresa.

At approximately 1:05 PM the school was cleared and the lockdown was lifted.The school resumed its normal activities.

No one was injured as a result of this occurrence. The London Police are continuing their investigation.
