Sudbury man Peter McGann charged for child pornography

Between the 1st and 18th of January 2011, officers from the Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit conducted an area-wide sweep in relation to information identifying suspects involved in child pornography offences.

Acting on information received from the public and other law enforcement agencies, officers attended seven Sudbury area residences and met with the occupants. Six of the locations and its occupants were cleared through investigation and found to not be involved in child pornography.

On the 5th of January 2011, a 54-year old Sudbury area male who had been accessing child pornography from a public facility was identified and his involvement in the offence was confirmed.

Peter McGANN was subsequently charged with the Accessing Child Pornography.

The accused attended court on the 6th of January 2011 and was released on bail.
