Early Saturday morning at about 1:15 am, CPS members observed an adult female being forced into a vehicle by a male offender. Officers followed the vehicle and called in back-up units to assist. The female was then observed being forcibly removed from the vehicle and into a residence, in the area of Martin Crossing Rise N.E. Fearing for the safety of the female victim, officers conducted a "rapid intervention" entry. Once inside, officers found 6 males and the female, who was no longer in distress, but uncooperative with police. During their search for her, police could not miss the "forest" of Marihuana plants growing inside. Police arrested all the parties found inside the residence and vacated while preparing a Search and Seizure Warrant. As stated, the female was uncooperative but otherwise unharmed from the earlier police observations.

Upon executing the Search Warrant, members from the Integrated Green Team South along with District 5 officers, seized 293 marihuana plants, valued at over $366,000. The adult female mentioned earlier, along with another adult male, are charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Production of a Substance (Cultivation) under the CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act). Their names are not available at this time. The other persons found in the home had arrived earlier for a house party and have not been charged at this time. There were no children in the house.
