Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that forward Colin Stuart has been recalled from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Stuart (7/8/1982, 6’2″, 200 lbs) has played in 24 games for Rochester this season and has tallied the second-most points on the team with 17 (8+9).
Last season, Stuart appeared in three games with the Sabres, collecting two penalty minutes. He also played 51 games with the Atlanta Thrashers during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, recording 13 points (8+5).
In 72 games with the Portland Pirates (AHL) last season, Stuart picked up 44 points (16+28). Through 447 AHL appearances with Portland, the Abbotsford Heat and the Chicago Wolves, Stuart has collected 92 goals and 97 assists (189 points).
The Rochester, Minn. native was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fifth round (135th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and signed a one-year deal with the Sabres on July 7.
