Hamilton Leads the Marlies with 17 Goals this Season
The Toronto Marlies, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today that forward Ryan Hamilton has been added to the Western Conference All-Star roster for the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic.
Hamilton, 26, has played in 41 games with the Marlies this season, collecting 29 points (17 goals, 12 assists) and 19 penalty minutes. The Oshawa, Ontario native ranks first on the Marlies and 13th (tie) in the AHL with 17 goals. The Marlies captain had a five-game goal streak from December 21 to January 1 during which he notched six goals. Hamilton will be replacing Marlies forwards Nazem Kadri and Joe Colborne who were nominated, but will not attend the All-Star Classic.
The 2012 AHL All-Star Classic will take place January 29-30 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Marlies hit the road on Thursday for a game against the Lake Erie Monsters at Quicken Loans Arena at 7:00 p.m. On Friday night, Toronto takes on the Hamilton Bulldogs at Copps Coliseum for a 7:30 p.m. puck-drop. The Marlies return home on Saturday afternoon to host the Rochester Americans at 3:00 p.m.
