Ottawa SenatorsThe Ottawa Senators today recalled forward Rob Klinkhammer from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. 

Klinkhammer, 25, has recorded 12 goals and 23 asssists for 35 points while adding 30 pentaly minutes in 35 games with Binghamton this season.The 6-3, 214-pound Klinkhammer was acquired by the Senators on Dec. 2, 2011 from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a conditional seventh round draft pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to the trade he recorded two goals and four asssists in 18 games with the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs. 

A native of Lethbridge, Alta., Klinkhammer set professional career highs in goals (17), assists (29) and points (46) while ranking third in overall team scoring in 76 games with the IceHogs last season. He was recalled on one occasion by the Blackhawks and made his NHL debut in a game against the Dallas Stars on Dec. 7, 2010. In that contest, he was held scoreless while registering a +1 rating. 

Undrafted, Klinkhammer is in his fifth season of professional hockey. In 342 career AHL games with the Norfolk Admirals and Rockford and Binghamton, Klinkhammer has recorded 168 points (68 goals, 100 assists) and 210 penalty minutes. 

The Senators next see action on Sunday, March 4, when they visit the Florida Panthers at 6 p.m.
