The Toronto Marlies defeated the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, by a score of 2-1 tonight at Ricoh Coliseum.
After a scoreless first period, Ryan Hamilton gave Toronto a 1-0 lead 15 second into the middle frame. Mark Mancari would equalize for Rochester on a powerplay at 11:41. The Marlies would score the eventual game winning goal at 13:28 of the second period when Ryan Hamilton notched his second goal of the game on a penalty shot.
Toronto returns to the ice on Saturday afternoon when they host the Binghamton Senators, AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m.
