Rielly Tallies First Pro Goal

The Chicago Wolves defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 4-3 in a shootout tonight at the All State Arena in Illinois.

Chicago would open the scoring at 2:00 of the first period on Michael Davies’ 13th goal of the season. Brett Sterling extended the Wolves lead on a powerplay at 4:17 of the middle frame. Toronto would cut the deficit in half when Spencer Abbott notched his 9th tally of the year at 14:07. Chicago restored their two-goal lead before the end of the frame when Brett Sterling scored his second marker of the game. Greg Scott tallied a shorthanded goal early in the third period to pull Toronto within one. Morgan Rielly’s first pro goal tied the game at three with just over five minutes remaining in regulation. After a scoreless overtime period, Brett Sterling notched the lone shootout goal to secure the victory for Chicago.

Toronto returns to the ice tomorrow night when they travel to Wisconsin to take on the Milwaukee Admirals, AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. (E.T). The Marlies return home on Saturday, March 30 when they host the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, at 3 p.m.
