The Toronto Marlies defeated the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, by a score of 4-3 in overtime this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.

Akim Aliu opened the scoring for Abbotsford just over 10 minutes into the opening frame. Toronto would respond with two tallies before the end of the period with Brad Ross scoring on the powerplay and Jamie Devane at even strength. The Marlies would extend their lead at 6:52 of the middle frame when Greg Scott notched his 9th goal of the season. Abbotsford forwards Sven Baertschi and Ben Street notched third period goals just over two minutes apart to tie the game at three. Joe Colborne’s 14th goal of the year gave the Marlies their 38th victory of the season 52 seconds into overtime.
