David Nonis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday evening that the club has signed restricted free agent Nazem Kadri to a two-year contract.

Kadri, 22, collected 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) in all 48 regular season games this past season. The forward ranked second on the team in goals (tie), powerplay goals (5-tie), assists, points, plus/minus (+15) and third in shots (107).

The native of London, Ontario recorded two hat-tricks and 11 multiple-point games in 2013. Kadri was the Leafs’ first choice, seventh overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Nonis and Kadri will be available to the media tomorrow morning as the Maple Leafs open training camp at the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence.
