Toronto Marlies Down Milwaukee Admirals 6-2 in Game One

The Toronto Marlies defeated the Milwaukee Admirals, AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, by a score of 6-2 in game one of their Western Conference Quarterfinal tonight in Milwaukee.

The Marlies would open the scoring at 17:46 of the first period with Sam Carrick notching his first professional post-season goal. Josh Leivo would give Toronto a 2-0 lead on a powerplay early in the middle frame. The two teams would trade goals late in the second period with Patrick Cehlin scoring for Milwaukee and T.J. Brennan tallying for the Marlies. Jerry D’Amigo would give Toronto a 4-1 lead just 46 seconds into the final period. Filip Forsberg responded for the Admirals with a powerplay goal less than two minutes later. Kenny Ryan and Sam Carrick added empty net tallies to give Toronto a 6-2 victory.

Game two of the series goes tomorrow night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
