Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday that forward Nazem Kadri and defenceman Keith Aulie have been recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. The club also announced that forward Christian Hanson and defenceman Korbinian Holzer have been assigned to the Marlies.
Kadri, 20, registered five goals, nine assists, 14 points, 20 penalty minutes and a plus-two rating in 14 games with the Marlies this season. The 6-0, 188-pound forward appeared in five preseason games with the Maple Leafs in 2010, collecting three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and two penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut last season on February 8, 2010 against the San Jose Sharks after being recalled from his junior club on emergency conditions. Kadri was Toronto’s first choice, seventh overall, in the 2009 Entry Draft.
Aulie, 21, has appeared in 14 games with the Marlies this season, registering four points (1 goal, 3 assists) with 25 penalty minutes and an even rating. He played two preseason games for the Maple Leafs in 2010, recording two penalty minutes and three shots on goal. The 6-5, 217-pound defenceman was acquired by Toronto from Calgary on January 31, 2010 along with Dion Phaneuf and Fredrik Sjostrom in exchange for Matt Stajan, Niklas Hagman, Ian White and Jamal Mayers.
