
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday that forward Carter Ashton has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies for conditioning purposes.
Ashton, 23, has been held pointless in three regular season games with the Maple Leafs so far this season. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native has three assists in 50 career NHL games, all with Toronto.
The Marlies return to the ice tonight when they travel to Grand Rapids (AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings) for a 7 p.m. game. The Maple Leafs will host the Philadelphia Flyers tomorrow night at Air Canada Centre (7 p.m.).
