Football hard fans are eager to watch the Sunday evening's Euro 2012 Group C clash between Spain and Italy in Gdansk (kick-off 5pm BST). The Spaniards, 2010 World Cup champions that happened in South Africa, are trying hard to make the history by becoming the first team ever to win three successive major international tournaments.
Spain stands at the top with No. 1 in FIFA ranking. Two key players from Spain had been robbed after the last two title-winning sides in defender Carles Puyol and striker David Villa. However, it had not affected the match winning pace of the Spain as evident from its success in last three friendlies. Spain’s probable line-up include: Casillas, Arbeloa, Ramos, Pique, Alba, Xavi, Busquets, Alonso, Iniesta, Torres, Silva.
On the other hand, Italy secures a FIFA ranking of 12. Italy had a nightmare month as it had to face a match fixing scandal. Also they had to face a loss in a warm-up match against Russia just before the tournament had make things going against their luck. However, Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque is still of the view that Italy is a difficult team to face and that too in their starting game of the tournament. Italy’s projected line-up include: Buffon, Bonucci, Chiellini, de Rossi, Maggio, Nocerino, Pirlo, Marchisio, Balzarreti, Cassano, Balotelli.
Though Italy might be a tough competitor, they might face difficulty in holding the sharp Spanish attack for the whole game. Spain has a bright winning chance and probably come out successful in the tournament as well. We strongly hope that may the best side win!
