Euro 2012 second round of Group stages will start with the clash between Greece and Czech Republic from Group at Wroclaw, Poland at 17:00pm (BST) Kick Off Time. In their last game, The Greeks drew 1-1 with co-hosts Poland on last Friday. But the result came at a cost of their favorite central defensive pairing of Avraam Papadopoulos (knee) and Sokratis Papastathopoulos (suspended) are unavailable for the match, with the former ruled out for the remainder of the tournament.
Greece got the FIFA ranking of 14. Their game with Czech Republic will be an important one to head towards the Quarter finals, depending upon their performance. The probable line up for Greece include: Torossidis, Chalkias, K.Papadopoulos, Malezas, Holebas, Maniatis, Katsouranis, Karagounis, Salpingidis, Gekas, Samaras.
Czechs cannot take the risk of losing against the Greece as it may result in the end of their hopes at Euro 2012. They also have the fear of becoming the first team to get eliminated from the tournament. A 4-1 loss to Russia in their Group A opener proved to be disastrous for the Czechs, as their defence was repeatedly torn apart by the likes of Alan Dzagoev and Andrey Arshavin.
Czechs stand at the FIFA ranking of 26. Despite the heavy defeat in their last game, Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech still believes his team can qualify for the quarter-finals. Czech Republic’s likely squad for their match against Greece include: Gebre Selassie, Kadlec, Hubnik, Sivok, Hubschman, , Plasil, Pilar, Rosicky, Baros, Jiracek.
Czechs will be facing a do or die situation to get to the other stages of the tournament with a favor of taking on a battered and bruised Greece side. However, the match that involves the Greeks the most likely outcome comes in the shape of a draw. Stay Tuned to look for the final results!
