One Day International series between India and Si Lanka is set to start today. After beating Pakistan into submission earlier this month, Sri Lankans are in great spirits and ready to face the Indian team that has seen its stock slide in recent months. But right now Indian team seems to have been refreshed by the long vacation they took from playing non-stop cricket.
The Sri Lankan team is on top of the world after beating Pakistan in both test and one day format quite easily. Throughout the series, the more than month long series, Sri Lankan bowlers performed brilliantly. Sri Lanka will try to continue its achievement pace by giving India the same treatment as it gave to Pak team previously. The Sri Lankan team may include: Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Angelo Mathews (vice-capt), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Upul Tharanga, Dinesh Chandimal, Nuwan Kulasekara, Thisara Perera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Lasith Malinga, Chamara Kapugedara, Rangana Herath, Sachithra Senanayake, Jeevan Mendis, Isuru Udana.
A refreshed and recharged Indian team would look for a winning start to the new season but the task won’t be easy against a strong Sri Lankan outfit as the two sides clash in a five-match ODI series starting on Saturday at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.
The Indian captain was implying that the near two months break the players have had since the IPL would serve them well as the team aims to win the series to herald the new season for them on a happy note. The probable Indian squad may include: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt), Virat Kohli (vice-capt), Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Zaheer Khan, Umesh Yadav, Ashok Dinda, Irfan Pathan, Ajinkya Rahane, Manoj Tiwary, Rahul Sharma.
