U.S. Women’s basketball team will be facing Turkey for their next match on Wednesday, August 1 at 5 p.m. ET.

The U.S. women's basketball team continued to steamroll its Olympic competition when it destroyed Angola 90-38 on Monday, improving to 2-0 thus far in London. Before that, the Americans beat Croatia 81-56.

Though Turkey is not treating its opponents in the same devastating fashion as the U.S., wins are wins, and Turkey has two of them: versus Angola (72-50) and versus the Czech Republic (61-57). 

One team is about to endure its first loss of the Olympic season—and chances are it won't be the team that hasn't lost one of its last 35 Olympic matchups.

Turkey may have been the runner-up at the European Championship, but this is its first Olympic appearance in basketball—and it hasn't yet faced a competitor like the U.S.

The Americans have won the last four gold medals and don't face a loss – but especially coming off a win like their last against Angola. Their offense looked excellent and their defense looked even better; this U.S. team is cruising right now, and it's going to take a challenge more formidable than Turkey to disrupt that momentum.
