In the final group match of the London 2012 Olympics campaign, Australian team will take on their group fellow Argentina at 21:00 BST.
As we look at the situation of the Pool B situation, it is worth interesting to know that the top 4 teams (Argentina, New Zealand, Australia and Germany) all from Pool B stands chance to be in Semi-Final, but finally it boils down to the results of first and last match of the day i.e. New Zealand Vs Germany at and Argentina vs Australia respectively and their final goal differences.
Having looked at the score points table of Pool B, it is notable that three teams i.e. Argentina, New Zealand and Australia are sharing 9 points each. But Argentina is at the top and Australian team is at No.3 spot on the basis of goal differences. However, These are some of the possibilities, but not limited to, for deciding 2 toppers of Pool B, who will play in semi-finals of Women’s Hockey competition of London Olympics:
– If both the matches, Argentina vs Australia and New Zealand vs Germany; are drawn or Argentina and New Zealand win, then they will play in the semi-finals.
– The winner of Argentina and Australia match will Semis, but the loser can also play at the semi-final depending upon the situation (i.e. goal difference, number of wins, goal conceded etc.) if and only if Germany beat New Zealand.
