After winning the Test series and drawing the ODI leg, South Africa will now take on England in first of the three Twenty20 matches at Chester-le-Street on Saturday.
With the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka less than two weeks away, both England and South Africa will be looking for form and momentum ahead of that. South Africa, who has recently created history by becoming the first team to top the ICC rankings in all three formats recently, will be upbeat against the England who troubled by Pieterson saga.
No matter how the format continues to engulf the game, international T20s outside of major competitions are still relatively rare. England have played four of them so far this year including a three-match series against Pakistan, which they won 2-1. They also played a one-off against the Windies, which also led to success. The probable English line up include: Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Danny Briggs, Jos Buttler, Jade Dernbach, Steven Finn, Alex Hales, Craig Kieswetter, Michael Lumb, Eoin Morgan, Samit Patel, Graeme Swann, Luke Wright.
The South African team also shows a record of three wins from four matches this year, they lost the first of three on their tour to New Zealand but turned things around to win the series 2-1 and they beat India by 11 runs in a one off match at the Wanderers in March. The South African squad likely to play include: AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla, Farhaan Behardien, Johan Botha, Jean-Paul Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Jacques Kallis, Richard Levi, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Justin Ontong, Wayne Parnell, Robin Peterson, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe.
