On Friday September 14th, 2012 stage 6 will be started in Tour of Britain, as Marc De Maar (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling) won stage five of the Tour of Britain after going apparent from the crucial break free and winning by 15 seconds. Succeeding position went to Sep Vanmarcke (Garmin-Sharp) with third going to Boy Van Poppel (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling). The gold has left the shoulders of Mark Cavendish (Sky Pro Cycling) and back on to those of Leigh Howard (Orica-GreenEDGE) as Howard regains overall lead.
Stage six is the primary day of this tournament, which will not bound go a team sprint. The stage starts in Welshpool and finishes 190km later in Caerphilly. It’s an rolling stage with the real tingle in the extremity coming with the two passages of Caerphilly Mountain within the last 12 kilometres.
