The 2012 Frys Open Championship will begin on Thursday 11 October to Sunday 14 October 2012,at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, California, United States.

The top players on the PGA TOUR will be competing this tournament as it is an end of season playoff, which is part of the PGA Tour’s Fall Series, and completes the end-of-the-year program subsequent to the end of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

In the year 2011 Bryce Molder outlasted Briny Baird in a 6-hole playoff to win for the first time on the PGA Tour to defend his title this year, overpowered a ground that included Tiger Woods. This season, some prominent players and up-and-coming talents are in attendance in San Martin.

Although there’s no Tiger this year, the playing field does attribute a four-time Major winner in Ernie Els. He is the biggest name in the field, and  also the only player in this tournament who went the distance in the FedExCup. He had a well-built summer on Tour, and one of the favorites contender entering in this tour along with other young and talented contenders, which includes, Bud Cauley, Patrick Cantlay, Gary Woodland, and John Peterson.
