India and Germany will face each other in their final group match of Pool A.
India is leading the Pool and is the only team to have two consecutive victories in the first two matches and hopeful to end the group stage with a win as well. The 11th ranked India provided the audience with the first major set up by defeating the 4th ranked England with 3-1. The Indians didn’t stop and surprised again by earning another victory against 6th ranked New Zealand with 4-2. The Indian squad includes: Rupinder Pal Singh, Kothajit Singh, Manpreet Singh, Sardar Singh, Yuvraj Walmiki, Dharamvir Singh, Raghunath Vokkaliga Ramachandra, Uthappa Sabbuvanda Kushalappa, Sreejesh Parattu Raveendran (GK), Danish Mujtaba, Nithin Thimmaiah, Gurwinder Singh Chandi, Sandhu Harbir Singh, Thirumala Roa Potnuri (GK), Sunil Sowmarpet Vitalacharya, Birendra Lakra, Akashdeep Singh, Gurmail Singh.
On the other hand, the Olympic champions and the World No.1 Germany won only one match out of two. In their clash against New Zealand in the first Pool match, Germany grabbed a close victory with the 3-2 result. However, in their 2nd match against England, Germany had to suffer a poor loss with 4-1. It was the first ever defeat to the Germans from English team in the Champions Trophy. Before that Germany had won 15 games and four encounters resulted in a draw.
