Australia will take on Sri Lanka in an interesting Super Six clash at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, February 10.
Aussies are feeling high after the two-run victory over defending champions England in the previous game. Now five-time champions Australia will play against an unpredictable Sri Lanka to prove their superiority. Australia’s strength is their bowling attack and Jodie Fields-led side showed it against arch-rivals England, when they successfully defended a small total of 147. The pacers would look to rip through the batting order of their lesser fancied opponents, though their batting form remain a point of concern. The probable Australian lineup will include: Jodie Fields (c), Alexandra Blackwell, Jessica Cameron, Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry, Lisa Sthalekar, Renee Chappell, Julie Hunter, Megan Schutt, Holly Ferling.
Sri Lanka is hopeful to continue their dream chase of the title and try to make some more upsets in this World Cup against the top teams. Their enthusiasm can be clearly seen after stunning upsets against England and hosts India. The Lankans would now look to bounce back from their defeat against New Zealand in their Super Six opener. Their batting lineup seems to depend heavily on Eshani Kaushalya Lokusooriya who made 56 off 41 balls against the defending champions and then followed it up with an unbeaten 56 in 31 balls against India. The teams clashed previously twice with Australia winning on both the occasions, but this time the Sri Lankans are in form which they were never in before.
