Rajasthan Royals will face Kings XI Punjab in their Pepsi IPL fixture at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Sunday.

It is not expected to be the blockbuster game of the day with the Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab but the surprising fact is that both these sides started this IPL season in a good manner despite not being currently present in the top four. In Adam Gilchrist’s two innings so far he has showed early signs of being dangerous but always manages to get out without building on a start and Punjab need a good contribution from one of the openers. Punjab’s batting is a matter of concern now. The middle-order has shown some action, but the opening remains a worry. Adam Gilchrist and Mandeep Singh need to perform as a unit to give the middle-order some solid platform to capitalise on. Their best opening wicket score so far is of 21 runs against the Pune Warriors but today they need to perform out of their skins. The likely KXIP squad will include: 1. Adam Gilchrist (capt), 2. Mandeep Singh, 3. Manan Vohra 4. David Hussey, 5. Azhar Mahmood, 6. Gurkeerat Singh, 7. Rajagopal Sathish/Bipul Sharma, 8. Piyush Chawla, 9. Parvinder Awana, 10. Ryan Harris, 11. Praveen Kumar.

On the other hand, Rajasthan’s batting seems to be organized despite their failed opening. Ajinkya Rahane is doing his bit, but not getting enough aid from the other end. Now, Kusal Perera has to sustain the attack and provide his side with some solid start to get some positive result. James Faulkner had an excellent debut for the Rajasthan Royals against the Pune Warriors and he has the chance to get an extended run after performing with both bat and ball. The probable RR lineup will include: 1. Shane Watson, 2. Ajinkya Rahane, 3. Rahul Dravid (capt), 4. Brad Hodge, 5. Stuart Binny, 6. Dishant Yagnik (wk), 7. Kevon Cooper/Shaun Tait, 8. James Faulkner 9. Harmeet Singh, 10. Sreesanth, 11. Siddharth Trivedi.
